In 2009 I read an interview a friend of a friend did with Tori Amos (http://www.toriamos.com/) for OUT Magazine. I was jealous, needless to say for anyone who knows me. I asked my friend, “How does one even get the chance to interview Tori?” She said, “Journalism.” That sparked my interest in pursuing this career. I had always loved writing. My parents had encouraged me to write since I was about ten years old when I wrote a story about a frog named Fred. I still remember them bringing the story over to my grandparents’ house for them to read. I felt so talented! But it’s 26 years later and I’m just now pursuing this career.
Today I felt another spark. Don’t get me wrong, I do feel many sparks. But this is just the latest reminder of what I’m doing back in college as a “Non-traditional Student”. I’m old. :( Anyhow, I got a direct tweet from the bass player from Kaiser Chiefs! (http://www.kaiserchiefs.com/) Sounds like they’re touring North America in September 2011. I’m very excited about that! Not only because I love the band, but also because maybe, just maybe I could interview them! Here’s hoping!!! Eek!
I love watching old school commercials. Can you believe this commercial was actually banned? Oh, how times have changed! This is a perfect example of why men think that having a cool car picks up chicks. (It doesn’t boys!!)
“I’d like to buy the world a Coke!” Anyone else remember this jingle? This will be stuck in my head all day now! Congrats Coke!
I admit, my husband and I fell victim to children’s advertising this past Christmas. When our daughter saw this ad, she would not shut up about it! So yes, we bought her Kinectamils for a present. And you know what, I love playing it too!
Hey, I said I’m a sucker for animal ads! Here is one from before I was born - Friskies cat food from 1971. Pretty boring! Funny how far we’ve come in the advertising world.
Here is another McDonald’s commercial. This one not only targets many audiences, it also has a celebrity endorsement - Justin Timberlake is singing the song.
I love this McDonald’s commercial from Japan. Sure, it doesn’t make much sense, but the model is beautiful, and who wouldn’t recognize the clothing????
